Black Drama, Second Edition contains approximately 1,462 plays by 233 playwrights, together with detailed, fielded information on related productions, theaters, production companies, and more. The database also includes selected playbills, production photographs and other ephemera related to the plays. Some 600 of the plays are published here for the first time, including a number by major authors. ... Black Drama, Second Edition uses PhiloLogic software, developed at the University of Chicago, to enable in-depth browsing and searching of both the bibliographic and the full-text elements within the database.
Black Thought and Culture
Available Until: November 29, 2015
Black Thought and Culture contains 1,303 sources with 1,210 authors, covering the non-fiction published works of leading African Americans. Particular care has been taken to index this material so that it can be searched more thoroughly than ever before. Where possible the complete published non-fiction works are included, as well as interviews, journal articles, speeches, essays, pamphlets, letters and other fugitive material. Black Thought and Culture uses PhiloLogic software, developed at the University of Chicago, to enable in-depth browsing and searching of both the bibliographic and the full-text elements within the database.

And There’s the Humor of It: Shakespeare and the Four Humors
The EMU Library is pleased to present the exhibit "And There’s the Humor of It: Shakespeare and the Four Humors" now on display through Feb. 27 on the first floor of the library. The exhibit is on loan from the National Library of Medicine and details the language of the four humors and their influence in Shakespeare’s plays. EMU Tweet Bowl
The EMU Tweetbowl is an on and off campus community event highlighting the focus of the effects of advertisements, engagement, and consumer behavior. The event will take place all through January until February 1st 2015. Our EMU Community will be encouraged to participate via Twitter throughout the month with multiple twitter sweepstakes and on campus play-off viewing parties. With the collected engagement from our community, Team Advertising Data Analytics (student org members from AAF-EMU and Global IT) will be incorporating the community's tweets to measure demographics and the corresponding amount of engagement. We want to encourage our EMU community, alums, and business organizations to help us continue to make this 3 year long event a success.

A scholarship fund is available for students pursuing degrees relevant to work in libraries, archives, and related organizations. Applications and nominations are now being sought for the Stella and Rose Romanow Endowed Scholarship Fund for Excellence in Library Sciences, which is available to both undergraduate and graduate students for the 2015/16 year. EMU presents the Michigan Collegiate Job Fair today, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Burton Manor in Livonia. The Job Fair is open to seniors and alumni of any two or four-year college and is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to meet with recruiters. Employers who participate in the Job Fair primarily seek entry-level candidates for positions in business, engineering, sciences, technology, liberal arts, human services and allied health. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE AT EMU
The EMU campus community is cordially invited an event tonight, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in the first floor recital hall in Alexander Music Building where you can learn more about the Russian language and culture at EMU. Hear from keynote speaker Vasiliiy Krivtsov, Ph.D. Reliability Engineering (Applied Statistics) and be entertained by the St. Vladimir's Dance Group. There will be ethnic food from the Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Georgia, along with tea with Russian crepes and sweets. Free and LBC approved.
