Binding Wounds, Pushing Boundaries: African Americans in Civil War Medicine

The National Library of Medicine presents Binding Wounds, Pushing Boundaries: African Americans in Civil War Medicine - a look at the African American men and women who served as surgeons and nurses, providing medical care to soldiers and civilians, during the American Civil War. Through historical images and period documents, the exhibit brings a voice to those that have remained silent for nearly 150 years. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and runs through Saturday, June 23. There is a research guide to accompany the exhibit at http://guides.emich.edu/bindingwounds
