Access

Library Access for the Distant
Learner:

If the Bruce T. Halle does not own a
particular item, there are alternative
methods to obtain the material. They
are:

1) Visiting Patron. If a search of the Halle
Library catalog (Web Voyager)
reveals that a book is not owned,
you can visit the
other libraries and check out the materials
directly if you discover another library owns
the item(s). For a full listing check http://elibrary.mel.org/screens/participating.html

2) Reciprocal Borrowing. You may find it
more convenient to use other libraries
EMU has established a reciprocal
borrowing agreement with many
libraries. All you have to do is
present your EMU ID to another library
and they will let you check out the book
from their collection.

3)MelCat. If the Halle library does not own your book, you can borrow
the book from other Michigan libraries for three weeks and you can renew
the book once.

4) Illiad. If the Halle library does not own your book, you can borrow
the book from other  libraries for three weeks and you can renew
the book once.

EMU participates in these programs to allow our
students to obtain research material in the most
convenient manner possible.
